Vampire Chase
Chapter 1: The Eternal Deal

Heavy breathing…

Heart beating fast in my chest…

Running for my life.

I didn't turn to see the hypnotizing eyes of the blood-sucking creature after me. The green and blue-eyed angel of the night…
Not stopping for air, I ran as fast as I could through the cold, damp forest.
Unaware, I felt my feet get caught in a tree root, causing me to lose my balance and fall forward, my hands and knees breaking my fall. I quickly crawled behind the tree that tripped me, itself and put my hand over my mouth to quiet down my gaspy breathing.
I heard a fast swoosh, ~ making me think the blood sucking creature had past by my hiding spot, unaware of me hiding behind it. I sighed in relief, my chest breathing calmly in a way. I closed my eyes, placed my hand away from my mouth, and grabbed my chest in relief.
I waited for five long, yet brief minutes and peeked out of my hiding spot. Nothing. Nothing, but the foggy, wet forest. I quietly and slowly stood up to my feet, while looking around for anything suspicious. I turned to run for it, but, I spoke too soon. A blue eye and a green eye stared into my dark pools, quickly freezing me into a trance.
"You really think I'm dumb enough to not suspect you behind a mere tree? Love, you should be smarter than that…" His deep, menacing voice spoke. I didn't speak. His mouth formed into a wicked grin, as if he smelled my fear, and craved it so. He took a step forward to me, with his white, parched fangs showing off.
I spoke softly, "W…Why do your features look so… familiar…?" I asked myself. The white-haired vampire looked at me strangely. "You know of me, do you? Hmm…. That's quite strange." He said, stepping closer and closer to me. As he does so, I get a better look at his pale face. Who could miss his snow white hair with the ends of his locks looking as if they were dipped in blood?
"Ye-Yes…" I finally answered.
"Well…" He got closer, to where his face was just inches away from mine, and also to where I felt his warm breathing against my neck. "If you know of me…" He whispered seductively in my ear. "Say my name."
My blood boiled. My skin went warm. I opened my mouth slightly to say his devious name.
"….Jagger." I say softly, looking away from his face. I didn't see it, but I felt him smirk wide.
"What a good girl." The white haired vampire said as he raised his skinny hand and placed it on my face, the icy feeling striking my warm cheek. "Now, how did you know so wisely?" Jagger asked. I thought of the consequences if I didn't tell the truth let alone telling him at all. "S…Someone told me." I admitted. Jagger traced his hand to my face, his index and thumb holding my chin, making me look into his hypnotic eyes.
"Humph… Darling, you must be more specific than that. Now, tell me who." He insisted.
"A-A friend told me." I say. I knew that Jagger knew that there were only two people who possibly know about him.
"More specific." Jagger demanded.
"N-no, I won't tell who. That's all the info that's coming out of my mouth. Figure the rest out on your own if you're so eager." I snapped at him. Jagger frowned at this. Then, suddenly out of nowhere but yet to be expected, I gasped as Jagger pushed me onto the tree behind me, pinning my arms down against it in the process. I struggled, but not enough to where I could escape his incredible grip. Jagger leaned in closer until I felt his hot breath pounding against my face. Smells like blood… Ugh, not a pleasant smell. "You might as well tell me, unless you want the blood to be sucked out of you." He threatened. Bolts of electricity felt like they shot through my entire body, as I unexpectingly felt his soft, moist tongue snake the shell of my ear lobe, traveling lower and lower until he stopped to my neck. I gasped with a hint of painful moaning as I felt two sharp teeth poking at my throat. "I'm counting from five…And if I don't hear what I want, you will belong to me forever…."
I began to tense up, with my mind racing into oblivion as Jagger spoke, "Five…."
Is he serious?
"Four…"
No, I can't tell him!
"Three…"
But I had to!
"Two…"
No!
"…One."
"NO, wait!" I yelled helplessly, feeling his teeth hardly puncturing my skin. Jagger stopped in that position. That's strange. Usually vampires would just bite anyways.
"O-okay… I'll tell you…" I stammer, my heart still beating rapidly in my chest.
"You chose wisely." Jagger says, but not backing away. He wanted to see if I'd tell the truth.
"But, on one condition." I say.
"But, of course." Jagger agreed.
"You are NOT to hurt them." I say sternly.
"Dear, you needn't worry. You have my every word." Jagger says.
I sigh, and say, "I…. I know you because of… Raven…" I admit.
Jagger's bony index finger twitched on my chin, like a detached fly's leg. I felt his confident and smirking atmosphere turn into an unhappy and unpleasant one.
"Hmm…. Raven Madison? Raven Madison of Dullsville?" Jagger asked. All I did was nod, a bit too afraid to speak anymore.
"You're friends with Raven I take it." Jagger said in a more concerned way. "Well…" I stammer.
"I happen to try to take Raven for eternity." Jagger cut me off.
I glare at him, knowing all too well about that. "To get revenge on her vampire boyfriend, Alexander Sterling? I know that, too, Jagger Maxwell." I said adding Jagger's last name to the sentence.
Jagger said nothing, but stared at me. "…Raven must've told you a lot…" He said sternly.
"You have know idea…" I say to myself.
"Well, I'm glad you told me, otherwise, your blood would be drained from your very body by now, without a drop left." Jagger sneered.
"That's because you forced me to tell you." I remarked.
"Exactly. So you should thank me for the warning."
"I shouldn't have to thank you for anything, smartass." I insulted the vampire.
"I guess you WANT me to consume your blood." Jagger said irritably.
"Not a chance," I say. "Not a chance, that you're gonna threaten me the same way you threatened Raven!" I yell.
I thought about it… I would like this vampire to get a taste of my own opinion instead of my blood.
"And ya know…" I begin. "You're quite the avenger. Even though you had a pretty rough life getting around when you were younger, as well as your sister, Luna Maxwell, I think it was no use for your childish revenge. I mean, it was only natural that Alexander didn't want to take your sister for eternity. He's just not that type of vampire…" I looked straight into Jagger's eyes without hesitation this time, with a sly grin. "Especially the type who merely comes and goes… Or for a vampire, I should say bites and leaves. Sounds familiar, to me."
I watched as Jagger's brightly colored eyes formed into a blood red, in anger. "Avenger? Childish?" Jagger repeated angrily. By now, Jagger's body was pinning down on my own, as he growled and grinded his head into my neck, trying to scare me probably. And boy, this was making my face go beat red by the feeling of hot breath, soft hair, and smooth cold skin completely pressing against my neck. Wouldn't that make you want to scream on the inside?
"C-Cut it out w-with the stalling, Jagger…" I stutter. Jagger growled once again, and looked straight into my eyes. Was this a vampire's way to show he's angry? By trying to get someone in an aroused mood? It would've worked if it wasn't Jagger though, I know that much. "You know nothing about my childhood life. You have no right to judge." Jagger said, furiously.
"I may not… But, I can tell what kind of a person you are..." I, all of a sudden, spoke softly. I raised my hand and placed it on his dead chest, feeling no beating in it, at all. "Lonely… Sad… Anger…. You feel like no one can help you, let alone be there for you. You were once jealous of your sister, yes?" I asked the vampire. The redness in Jagger's eyes soon faded away, turning his eyes pale white again. "Your sister was human once, and got what you didn't get: The experience of being alive. But here you are, trapped in the dark, night-filled ball for eternity…" I began to feel bad now, as well.
"But…" I say. "That doesn't give you the right to ruin someone else's relationship. Especially one's such as Alexander's and Raven's." I rephrase.
Jagger, now distracted by all this sorrow and despair, looked down. I never thought I could get any vampire filled with such guilt. I could feel Jagger's grip holding me down, begin to loosen. I thought this was a great chance to escape. Even though it's wrong to bring up someone's sorrowful past just so you can get out of something, I still had to do it.
I quickly got out of his pinment, and made a run for it, not looking back. I knew I couldn't outrun a vampire, but I just had to get away as much as I could if I didn't want to become his vampiress.
I didn't even try to look back. I squinted my eyes, noticing I was coming across someone's backyard fence. This is a perfect time to get help!
As I got closer and closer, I looked at the fence carefully. Wait a minute… That's not a backyard. I saw tombstones, not a swing set, or a doghouse. Then, that's when I realized… I'm near the cemetery. That's definitely not good, if you have a vampire hot on your trail.
"Well, good work," I heard a familiar voice speak. "I was about to come here first. Its bad luck for the bride to show up before the groom, don't you think?"
I turned, seeing no one else than Jagger. So, what did I learn about trying to outrun a vampire? Don't. Even. Try.
"Bride? Groom?" I asked, confused. Jagger only made that same, creepy smile. "Yes… I have made my decision," Jagger began. "You are the perfect human to become my eternal vampiress." My eyes widened, as my nervousness arose. Jagger is planning on making me his vampiress? Why is this happening?
"W-what?" I asked. "Why?" Was all that came out next.
I froze as I saw Jagger disappear and in a split second, he was right behind me. "You're strong, self-defensive, and courageous with a hint of awareness. Not to mention, you're a little fox."
"A fox?" I asked.
"Yes. When you tricked me like that, I thought you had true potential."
"I-I don't want to belong to you, Jagger. Why are you so ridiculously persistent?!" I yelled.
"Why are you so ridiculously stubborn? Ha, tell me… Haven't you ever wanted to become one of my kind?" Jagger asked. My emotions calmed. My gaze looked down, now staring at the ground. "W-well… Yes, I have." I softly answered.
"Humph… And yet, you refuse to become one from me? Am I that bad?" Jagger asked.
"Well, according to what you did to Raven and Alexander, then yes." I said.

"And yet, here I am, yours truly, the only vampire around to be able to give you that opportunity. Alexander won't do it, because he's got Raven. My sister can't do it, she's in Romania. My little brother can't do it, he's too young. So, I have to do it if you're so eager to be my apart of my kind. I'll turn you into your favorite night creature, if you become mine for eternity…" Jagger explained to me. "Well, dear?"  Jagger asked, with his fangs just inches away from my neck. And I'm sure he'll really bite me this time. "Do we have a deal…?" He asked, his fangs aching for my neck hungrily.
I paused, aware that he could sink his teeth into my flesh any second.
"I-I don't know…" I stutter.
"Heh… unsure… I always expect that." Jagger said. "I'll tell ya what… I'll give you time to think about it. One week. Saturday, meet me here at the cemetery, at sunset. And don't be late. I hate having to wait…"
"What if I don't show up at all?" I asked curiously.
"Well then. I'll be in your room, that night, and I'll bite you anyways. Sunday morning, you'll wake up in your bed hissing at the sunlight, unable to see your reflection, and famished for blood. I might even visit your family and let them know about your transformation."
To be truthful, I especially did not want my dear ones or my hometown to find out I was a vampire. And especially Raven and Alexander. They both would be devastated to hear that I got bit by their nemesis.
"Fine... I'll be here." I said.
I heard no response, strangely. I turned around expecting to see Jagger smirking into oblivion. But instead…
Jagger was gone.
